It's that time of year ... and Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga is hitting store shelves in time for the holiday season... so be sure to see what the folks over at IGN had to say about the new title in their recent review of the title. Lets just say Lego is not just for kids anymore...
That's right folks... on tap on the heels of the success of Lego Star Wars, LEC recently announced Lego Indiana Jones for platforms soon to be announced.
LucasArts and TT Games have announced that Lego Indiana Jones: The Videogame [working title] will whip onto game consoles next year. Developed by the same team at Traveller's Tales that created the Lego Star Wars series, Indiana Jones presents a tongue-in-cheek take on the first three cinematic adventures of pop culture's iconic archaeologist, including Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
The fine folks over at The Massassi Temple bring word they are hosting their first major single-player level contest. The contest runs about 2 months, levels can be for Jedi Knight, Mysteries of the Sith, Jedi Outcast, or Jedi Academy. First prize winner gets a video game of their choice. It certainly did not take long for the Star Wars: Force Unleashed trailer to hit the net after it was showcased on Entertainment Tonight earlier. Well, what are you waiting for? Go feast your eyes on the next upcoming hot Star Wars Force Unleashed trailer that should have us gnawing on our finger nails counting the days until its release... Thanks to my buddy DarthMaulUK over at SWGalaxies.Net for letting me know about the upcoming Force Unleashed footage that can be watched tonight at 7PM (your local time) on Entertainment Tonight. The official word out of LucasArts reads like this:

Okay, perhaps it is not the third person or first person lightsaber slashing and gashing game we were excited about with the motion sensing abilities of the Nintendo Wii Wand matching up with the Star Wars lightsaber, but it is a start! LucasArts confirmed this week that their upcoming title, Lego Star Wars:The Complete Saga (Due out later this year) will in fact including motion sensing for the lightsaber as controlled by the Wii wand. That's right folks, some juicy new tidbits about LEC's upcoming titles are coming out of this year's Hollywood and Games Summit Panel in Los Angeles. (See story below on Summit for more details). Perhaps the juiciest tid-bit to come out of the summit affecting Star Wars Gamers is news that soon you will be able to swing your Nintendo Wii controller wand and control your Jedi Lightsaber while doing so....
A big Happy Anniversary to all the Star Wars Galaxies fanatics out there celebrating their 4th year anniversary of the title. (Yes, I used to be one myself) Word is that if you login to your account between now and July 15th, you will receive an anniversary gift in the form of Anniversary Goggles... so fire up that old SWG login baby!
The Holywood Reporter is sponsoring an interesting event this week entitled the Hollywood and Games Summit where producers and directors from film and television are gathering with game producers and directors in order to find new ways to excel in the world of "transmedia". For two days directors and designers from UbiSoft, LucasArts, EA and game development stars are up on stage with traditional media stars such as Clive Barker and writers/producers of Heroes, Lost and Transformers to discuss the nexus of game worlds and traditional media production and distribution.
Some of the big gun third party developers attending this year's E3 have announced their Wii and DS showings for the event, including big names such as Capcom, LucasArts and Electronic Arts. Listed among LucasArts' Wii titles is LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga and for the Nintendo DS we see LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga as well as StarWars: The Force Unleashed. See the full list.
NaturalMotion, the company that is licensing its Euphoria technology to LucasArts for XBox 360 and PC titles will be putting the technology on display at this year's Siggraph 3D and animation trade show in San Diego this year. Euphoria is the DMS run-time animation technology being used by LucasArts and Rockstar. Euphoria synthesizes interactive animations on the fly to create unique gameplay moments for next-generation game titles.
According to Gamasutra'sweekly column, "Saling The World", which covers the top five sellers for every available platform in the United States, Japan, and Europe, LucaArts' Battlefront II leads among all North American PlayStation Portable titles. See who rounds out the rest of the top five...
